Who Are We?

We exist to sacrifice ourselves and our resources in order to speak up for the poor and the helpless, to reach to obtain justice for those who cannot speak for themselves, and to bring awareness to the people around us about the problem of HUMAN SLAVERY.

The goals of this group include raising awareness of modern-day slavery; raising funds for organizations which combat slavery and rehabilitate slaves; and advocating for justice for the oppressed. We are particularly dedicated to our local area, the state of Ohio.

  • Raising awareness: through events, conversations and our lifestyle, we will make our community aware of modern-day slavery. We will present people with resources to educate themselves on this issue. We will encourage our community to learn what lifestyle changes they can make to stop unintentionally supporting slavery.
  • Raising funds: the goals of this group do not include directly working to free and rehabilitate slaves. However, we seek to financially support groups that do, reflecting our primary dedication to our local area.
  • Advocating for justice: we will learn how to effectively pressure law enforcement to make abolishing human slavery a priority, and pressure the legal system to consistently provide justice for slaves, slave owners and slave traders.

We are motivated by our faith in God who came to "proclaim freedom for the captives" (Isaiah 61:1) and who calls us to "do justice and love mercy" (Micah 6:8). However, we believe that all people should be committed to ending human slavery, regardless of their religion (or lack thereof.) Therefore, we seek the participation of all types of people in our campaign to abolish modern slavery.
